Summer 2014

If you're seeking to define Lera Lynn's music, that will not be an easy task. The Nashville-based, Georgia bred singer songwriter is most often defined as "Americana" or "Country", but that only tells half the story. You can hear hints of Patsy Cline and Gillian Welch as well as contemporary singer/songwriters like Paula Cole and Fiona Apple.

The Individual writers have come together seamlessly in Bobtown to create distinctive original songs that fit comfortably under the "Roots" umbrella, but often incorporate elements of other musical genres. The first thing people notice about Bobtown are the harmonies, then the songwriting. And finally, the body count!

August 6

In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Pete and Maura Kennedy, have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early Austin days and a Byrds inspired jangle that drew the attention of Roger McGuinn, Steve Earle and Nanci Griffith.

Co-Bill Featuring

Ryan Tennis &The Clubhouse Band

El Caribefunk

The charming authenticity of Ryan Tennis' soft on the soul sound leaves the listener with a comfortable feeling of time well spent with an old friend. His singable melodies and disarming lyrics have drawn comparisons to Paul Simon, James Taylor and Amos Lee.

Ryan's 7 piece band plays positive, upbeat groove oriented singer/songwriter music, and is in regular rotation at nationally syndicated 88.5 WXPN.  He was a recent winner of the Philadelphia Songwriters Project Contest, he was nominated as Origivation Magazine’s Singer/Songwriter of the Year.

August 20

He’s been called “a revelation” by Rolling Stone. Woody Allen recruited him to score the theme to the 2012 Academy Award winning film Midnight in Paris, and he performed live during this year’s Oscar’s telecast. To say that French-born guitarist/composer Stephane Wrembel—who learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside—has already had a remarkable career would be an understatement.

July 30

Influenced by Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Ryan Adams, David Gray, this Asbury Park based singer/songwriter has created quite a buzz on the N.J. music scene.

Special Guest: THE LEVINS

IThe Levins Uplifting folk rock with wistful overtones of the 1930’s. ....“The Mamas and the Papas having coffee with Cole Porter.”

What is this voodoo that the VooDUDES do? Well first you gotta make a Roux!!!Then add in some New Orleans funk, blues, boogie-woogie and honky-tonk. Add a pinch of Zydeco, Southern soul and Caribbean party music and let it simmer 'til it's real thick. In the vast VooDUDES library of original songs, nothing is sacred. Whether it's imploding the hits of Hank Williams into the ultimate drivin' and cryin' songor eulogizing the Southern jazz funeral, The VooDUDES do it all--and with a beat that will make you move your feet.

August 27

Drawing on bluegrass and pre-WWII folk, they mix original compositions and traditional material infused with the infectious energy of the rock’n’roll they were reared on.
